| City Funeral Services sells one alternative container and four (4) caskets that are specifically designed for cremation. Photos, descriptions, and the retail prices of these items are included below.
Cremation caskets differ from traditional caskets in that they are generally made entirely of wood or wood by-products, and the use of metal is kept to a minimum. To comply with the Federal Trade Commission's Funeral Rule, funeral homes (or other cremation providers) who offer direct cremation must make an alternative container available to the customers they serve. Most of the families we serve who chose direct cremation elect to use the basic cardboard alternative container. However, some of our families request a simple casket for personal reasons. If you request a cremation casket, we deduct the cost of the alternative container ($75.00) from our $795.00 basic direct cremation fee and we add the cost of the cremation casket that you select. All changes will be itemized on the Statement of Funeral Goods and Services Selected (the purchase agreement) that we will prepare for you. |
